TechWM is proud to announce the appointment of Victoria Pargetter-Garner as Director of Digital Skills & Commercial Impact. Victoria will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital talent in the West Midlands, bringing extensive experience from her decade-long career at the University of Birmingham, where she specialised in business engagement, innovation, and upskilling.

In her new role at TechWM, Victoria will oversee the Digital Skills Consortium and work closely with all stakeholders, including the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). She will focus on engaging and supporting tech businesses in the region as they scale, leveraging partnerships with trusted providers, such as skills bootcamp providers, colleges, universities, schools, recruitment partners, and commercial landlords. This collaborative approach will directly support the region’s impartial tech acceleration program, ensuring that businesses and employees alike benefit from a thriving digital ecosystem.

Victoria’s will play a crucial role in analysing and investigating the digital skills needs of both large enterprises and SMEs across the West Midlands. By facilitating the fulfilment of these immediate skills demands, she will be pivotal in addressing the region’s talent gaps. Additionally, Victoria will provide critical feedback on future skills requirements to help educate employers on effective talent resourcing, ensuring workforce planning aligns with the growth needs of the region.

Through her leadership, TechWM aims to act as a unifying force for workforce planning across all cluster areas and initiate new ecosystem activities with partners from the Digital Skills Consortium, creating a seamless connection between talent development and employer demand.

Commenting on her appointment, Victoria said:
