A Coventry-based robotics manufacturer, Expert Technologies Group, has secured a multimillion-euro contract in Spain, backed by €1.4 million in financing. The deal sees the company partnering with Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze (SEBN) Spain, a global leader in automotive parts, to deliver advanced automation solutions for electric vehicle production.
Expert Technologies Group specialises in designing and building robotic assembly systems, tools, and specialised machinery, supporting automation across industries. Under the new contract, the firm will collaborate with SEBN to develop two automated auxiliary harness assembly lines for electric vehicles.
This contract marks Expert Technologies' first major project in Spain since Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic. The company accessed €1.4 million in working capital from NatWest, facilitated by support from UK Export Finance (UKEF), enabling the deal and sustaining around ten jobs.
Angelo Luciano, CEO of Expert Technologies, expressed optimism about the partnership:
"The support from UK Export Finance enabled us to secure this project with SEBN, a new client for us. We look forward to building a long-term relationship and hope this success will lead to more projects across Europe."
