In a momentous celebration of innovation and cutting-edge technology, Birmingham-based health tech firm Rem3dy Health was recently bestowed with the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.
The honour, presented by The West Midlands’ Lord Lieutenant on April 26th, marked a significant milestone for Rem3dy Health, recognising their groundbreaking work in the field of health technology.
Renowned for their pioneering efforts in 3D printing, Rem3dy Health clinched the coveted trophy at their state-of-the-art facility in Smethwick, solidifying their status as leaders in the industry.
Last year's announcement that the company would receive the King’s Award, an accolade approved by His Majesty the King himself following the Prime Minister’s recommendation, set the stage for this remarkable achievement.

Following a rigorous judging process, Rem3dy Health emerged victorious among 10 winners from the West Midlands across various categories, standing out as the sole winner from Birmingham in the Innovation category.
The presentation ceremony heralds an impressive start to what promises to be a record-breaking 12 months for Rem3dy Health.
The company has witnessed extraordinary global growth for its Nourished brand, expanding its footprint across Europe and Asia. Strengthening its presence on UK shelves through significant supermarket deals and a flurry of product and flavour launches, Nourished has become a household name synonymous with innovation and quality.
Founder and CEO Melissa Snover, who launched Nourished in 2019, expressed her gratitude for the award, stating,
“Today’s King’s Award ceremony truly feels like a culmination of the fantastic work of every single member of staff across all areas of the Rem3dy Health team. We pride ourselves on utilising our patented technology to pioneer personalised solutions across preventative and curative health. To be royally recognised for our contributions to innovation is something myself and the team are incredibly proud of.”
She continued,
“To win such an iconic award and be amongst a group of inspiring businesses from across the country is a huge honour, but our work doesn’t stop here. We are committed to continuing to use Rem3dy Health tech to disrupt the nutrition industry and improve the health of our valued customers. This award has also reiterated the fact that Birmingham – and the West Midlands as a whole – is a global business hub. The winners are a testament to the region’s trailblazing entrepreneurs.”
The King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation underscores Rem3dy Health's commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and driving positive change in the health and wellness sector. As they embark on their journey to redefine the future of nutrition, Rem3dy Health remains a shining example of Birmingham's thriving innovation ecosystem.

All-Female Accelerator Launches in West Midlands with £2M Investment Opportunity

An ambitious new accelerator programme aimed at supercharging female-led innovation in the West Midlands has revealed its first-ever cohort of founders—with a chance to secure a share of £2 million in investment.
The Fortuna Fellowship, created by The 51% Club in partnership with Midven (part of Future Planet Capital), is set to support five female-led startups over the next 12 months through intensive mentoring, funding access, and growth strategy development.

Selected from a competitive application and pitching process, the first five companies in the Fortuna Fellowship are:
- Cubbi – a money-saving app tailored for new parents
- Find Me A Solicitor – a platform offering free legal connections for personal and business needs
- MyBliss – a sexual wellness brand prioritising women’s health
- Visionary Farms – a sustainable indoor farming solution for homes and businesses
- Homewrecker – the UK’s first and only brand dedicated to pimento cheese
The programme is designed to address the stark funding disparity for women in entrepreneurship, with only 1.8% of venture capital investment currently going to female-led businesses. Through the Fellowship, participants gain access to expert mentors and have the chance to pitch for funding backed by £1 million from the West Midlands Co-Investment Fund (WMCO) and matched private capital.
Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands and Chair of the WMCA, praised the initiative:
“This impressive line-up of women founders reflects the innovation and drive powering our region’s future. Supporting start-ups like these is central to our economic growth strategy.”
Rupert Lyle, Fund Principal at Midven, added:
“We were looking for founders with that special spark – something truly original. But it’s their adaptability and hunger to grow that will set them apart.”
The 51% Club, led by founder Tara Attfield-Tomes, hopes to build a platform with global impact:
“We’re not here to do things by halves. The Fortuna Fellowship is designed to become the Y Combinator of female innovation, and this cohort is just the beginning.”
Backed by the £25 million WMCO Fund, which is managed by Midven on behalf of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and the West Midlands Pension Fund, the Fellowship is a bold step toward levelling the playing field for female entrepreneurs.
